Advanced Doctoral Trainee

Biography

Kelsi Werner is an advanced doctoral trainee working under the supervision of Dr. Emily Shum (PSY30752 CA). She is pursuing a doctoral (PsyD) degree in clinical psychology at The California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Kelsi’s clinical training involves working with acute mental health disorders in psychiatric hospital settings.

Most recently, she has been working in private practice and community mental health centers, providing psychodiagnostic and neuropsychological assessments as well as individualized therapy. Her theoretical approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy with a developmental and relational perspective. She has extensive experience working with children and adolescents ages 5–18, supporting individuals with a range of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and autism. Kelsi’s advanced clinical experiences with psychological testing and child development will be a value to our WHC team.
